A Break for Parents. An Adventure for Children.
Parents’ Day Out is one of Sevens Foundation Inc.’s signature family programs, designed to support parents while creating enriching experiences for children. Held twice each month, the program provides a trusted space where children are safe, engaged, and connected through meaningful enrichment, social connection, and occasional off-site outings.
While children build friendships and explore new experiences, parents are given a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recharge, and take a moment for themselves. Browns Woods Day is an annual multigenerational community celebration hosted at Brown’s Woods Park during the summer months. Rooted in tradition, African American culture, and heritage, this event has been a part of the Browns Woods community for decades. It celebrates Father's Day, brings families and neighbors together to honor fathers, community heroes, and the legacy of the Browns Woods Community through food, music, fellowship, and engaging activities.
Browns Woods Day is one of Sevens Foundation Inc.’s signature annual partnership events dedicated to bringing generations together through African American culture, community, and connection. Rooted in the history and spirit of the Broadneck Peninsula and the Browns Woods Community, this celebration creates a welcoming space where children, parents, elders, and community partners can gather, engage, and grow together.
Each year, families enjoy a day filled with outdoor activities, youth enrichment experiences, music, food, local vendors, and community resources designed to support wellness, belonging, and shared experiences. The event reflects our mission to rebuild the village by creating opportunities for meaningful connection, cultural pride, and multigenerational engagement.
Browns Woods Day is more than a community event — it is an investment in our future. Through collaboration with volunteers, local organizations, and partners, we create an environment where families feel supported, children feel inspired, and traditions continue to thrive.
Sevens Foundation promotes youth wellness and creative development by helping young people move, create, and recharge in fun and supportive ways. Through outdoor hikes, youth connect with nature while building healthy bodies and clear minds. Creative writing classes give them space to tell their stories, spark imagination, and grow confidence. Yoga complements the experience by fostering balance, mindfulness, and self-care—supporting youth as they grow both inside and out. This will reinforce community, resilience, and self-worth.
